Attuning to the Waxing Crescent Moon in Pisces

Lunar Dialogue

An impromptu conversation about the Moon in its waxing crescent phase in Pisces, this episode weaves astronomical astrology and tarot into a reflection on emergence, sensitivity, and the living rhythm of the sky. Attuned to the Moon’s position on this vernal equinox, this offering follows the natural cadence of the lunar cycle and invites an ongoing practice of return. With each lunar phase, we are given another chance to listen, reflect, and notice what this exploration is teaching us.

Now, with the waxing crescent Moon in Pisces, we enter a practice of rhythm, reflection, and attunement.

In astronomical astrology, we listen more closely to the living conversation between the sky, our own water body, and the present moment as the Moon gathers light.

We use this time to notice what attention reveals—sensitivity, permeability, dream, feeling, and the subtle movement of becoming.

Through this, we explore our own inner tides: shifting emotion, returning steadiness, and the rhythms that help us remain in attunement with life.

Deepening Our Connection to Water Under the Waxing Crescent Moon in Pisces

Water is not only symbolically linked to the Moon, but biologically central to how we live through rhythm: the Moon guides tides and has long been associated with sleep, hormonal, and emotional cycles, reminding us that the body is a water body shaped by phases, fluctuation, and reflection.

In this way, lunar attunement becomes a practice of nervous system care. Through slow breath, gentle movement, humming, laughing, and deep listening, we offer the body steady rhythmic cues that support regulation, soften urgency, and invite coherence.

As we listen, water becomes teacher and living guide, showing us how to move, adapt, rest, and return. To attune to the Moon through breath, sound, and listening is to bring the nervous system back into relationship with the living patterns of Earth and sky.

We invite you to attune to your own water body and the waters of your place through listening, tending, sounding, and care.

In the spirit of Pauline Oliveros’ Deep Listening, may this be a practice of opening to water as teacher and living guide—through bathing, washing dishes, listening to field recordings, sitting with rainfall, or being with rivers, lakes, creeks, springs, shorelines, or oceans.

If you feel called, use your preferred recording device to record your own water listening practice, upload it to Freesound, and share the link in the comments so we can listen across places together. You may also explore Cities and Memory, where people around the world gather through shared acts of listening.
